Post Men’s Lacrosse Picked Fourth in CACC Preseason Poll

Eagles receive first-place vote

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Post University men’s lacrosse team was picked to finished fourth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Preseason Coaches’ Poll announced on Monday. This marks the first year the CACC will sponsor men’s lacrosse as a championship sport.

Chestnut Hill earned the top spot in the poll, receiving 33 points and three first-place votes. Dominican was picked second with 27 points and two first-place votes. Georgian Court was third with 23 points while the Eagles earned 21 points and a first-place vote.

First-year programs Wilmington (12) and Felician (10) round out the poll.

Senior Frank Nichols Jr. (Oceanside, Calif.) is the top returning scorer for Post as he finished with 11 goals and five assists in 2017. The Eagles will be led by first-year head coach Anthony Fitti. His assistants are four-year starter Jack Kearney, the program’s leader in games played, and Paul Hylan, who finished his career fifth all-time with 61 points.

The Eagles open the regular season on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at LaMoy Field against American International at 2 p.m. The top four teams in the regular season standings will make the CACC Tournament which will be held April 27-29 at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J.
