Bentley Lacrosse Accolades

Adler, Hamerman & Holbrook Earn NE10 Academic All-Conference Team Distinction

WALTHAM, Mass. – Three student-athletes from the Bentley University men’s lacrosse team earned Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference team distinction for their sport, the conference announced Thursday; former players Max Adler (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./Northfield Mount Hermon) and Connor Holbrook (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan), and rising senior, goalie Robert Hamerman (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset).

Bentley led the conference in selections, with three players chosen out of 10 for men’s lacrosse.

Adler, a 2nd team USILA/Nike All-American and a draft pick of Major League Lacrosse’s Denver Outlaws, had a 3.43 GPA in 2016-17 and majored in corporate finance and accounting. Holbrook, who was a starting defenseman for head coach Jim Murphy for all four of his seasons at Bentley, was a computer information systems major with a 3.64 GPA. Hamerman started the final four games of the season for the Falcons, and played in 11 games overall, and achieved a 3.66 GPA with a major in finance.

In addition to being named a USILA All-American and first team All-Conference, Adler has also garnered several major academic awards in the postseason. That list includes USILA/Nike Scholar All-American honors and CoSIDA Academic All-District 1. This is the second straight season he’s been named Academic All-Conference.

On the field, Adler finished his senior year ranked fourth in Division II in face-off winning percentage (67.9%), and ranked third in ground balls per game (9.54).

Holbrook concluded his Bentley career having started 47 out of a possible 54 games in four seasons. He started every game in his sophomore and junior seasons. In 2017, he was among the team leaders in caused turnovers (11) and was a regular starter on defense.

Hamerman burst onto the scene with an 11 save effort in 46 minutes of action in Bentley’s near-upset of then-No. 3 ranked Adelphi on April 15. From that point, he started the final four games of the season, which included a 14 save effort against then-No. 17 ranked Saint Anselm, and 15 saves against then-No. 4 ranked Le Moyne.

Morley Garners NE10 Academic All-Conference Team Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University attacker Ciara Morley (Irvington, N.Y./Irvington) has garnered Northeast-10 Women’s Lacrosse Academic All-Conference team honors, the conference announced. Morley was one of just 14 student-athletes to make the team in women’s lacrosse.

Morley is a computer information systems major, and achieved a 3.74 GPA during the 2016-17 academic year.

On the field for the Falcons, Morley was third on the team in both goals (22) and points (27), while she started 16 of 17 games this past season.

She scored the winning goal in overtime in Bentley’s 11-10 win over Saint Anselm on March 29. That started a streak where she scored at least once over the final 11 games of the season. She had multiple goals in seven of those games, which included hat tricks in wins over Southern New Hampshire (April 15) and Saint Michael’s (April 26).

Morley has scored 42 goals over the last two seasons, and still has one year of eligibility remaining.
