The men’s and women’s lacrosse team will host their annual Rally Against Cancer game on Saturday (April 1) as a part of an afternoon America East doubleheader. The men’s team will get underway at 12 p.m. against Hartford and the women’s team follows at 3 p.m. versus twin state rival New Hampshire.

During the conference matchups, representatives from the University of Vermont Cancer Center, Otter Creek Awnings and Vermont Custom Closets will be in attendance with information on the fight to end cancer.

“As the presenting sponsor of the Rally Against Cancer games, we acknowledge the deep impact that cancer has on our employees, clients, friends, family and larger community,” Todd and Elizabeth Warren, owners of Otter Creek Awnings and Vermont Custom Closets said. “We understand that to truly make an impact we must all be involved and that together our efforts will result in meaningful progress toward treatments and an eventual cure.”

In recognition of the ongoing fight against cancer, the women’s lacrosse team will be wearing special edition pink warmup shirts during their game. The warmup shirts will be up for auction on Monday (March 27) and fans can bid on at UVMathletics.com/Auctions. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and show their support of UVM’s cancer research initiative.

The women’s team are encouraging fans to support the efforts at the University of Vermont Cancer Center by making a pledge per team or individual statistic (goal, assist, save, draw control, caused turnover) achieved versus New Hampshire to raise money for the University of Vermont Cancer Center.
