Review of Tactik Head by Maverik Lacrosse

A new lacrosse head from Maverik Lacrosse that we will see a lot of in the spring is the Tactik. The Tactik was used by the Maverik pro’s this summer in the MLL, but expect to see it everyone this spring. The Tactik follows in the great line of Maverik Lacrosse heads to recently hit the market. It follows in the footsteps of the Tank, Optik, and Centrik. All these heads are also made in the USA.

The features that are new to the Tactik lacrosse head are Xrail Technology, an optimal release point and Duratough. The lacrosse head also features multiple stringing holes as well as a universal specification. The new Xrail technology is engineered to distribute the stress to the opposite rail allowing for a lightweight and stiff design. While the optimal release point increases control with added hold and has extreme energy transfer when shooting. The final new technology incorporated into the Tactik lacrosse head is Duratough. Duratough is a material that increases stiffness and provides consistency in all weather conditions. After using the Tactik a few times the new technology is great. We think that the Xrail technology is a game changer. When a lacrosse head can distribute stress to the opposite rail and the lacrosse head can still maintain its shape and stiffness, that is awesome. The Tactik also features a Level 3 bottom rail, which is designed for a mid pocket. The multiple stringing holes are a stringers dream, allowing you to create any pocket you would like.

We tested and reviewed a navy Tactik lacrosse head. The shape of the head is great, it is similar to the Optik and Centrik. A few subtle differences are a few spots where there is grip inserted into the head. We first noticed in on the top scoop of the Tactik, as well as on the inside and outside of the top and middle sidewall rails. After testing the Tactik we noticed those grip spots helped keep the ball in the pocket while cradling. They provide just enough friction to help keep the ball in place. The grip spots on the scoop seem to be there more for show, then any type of help. The throat of the Maverik Lacrosse Tactik has a little less material compared to the Optik and Centrik. The head is definitely light and strong. Overall we thought the Tactik is a very solid lacrosse head. It is a head that can be used by attackman and midfielders. This head is a great addition to the Maverik Lacrosse lineup, we highly recommend the Tactik lacrosse head by Maverik.
