QUINCY, M.A. – The Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse, the premier outdoor professional lacrosse league, announced today that attackman Will Manny has signed a contract extension with the Cannons for the 2017 season.
“Following the Player Movement eligible players, Will was number one on my list to lock down for 2017, said Cannons General Manager Kevin Barney. “He is our captain and leader of this team and I could not be more excited to see him back for his fifth season in Boston.”
Manny led the Cannons for the second straight season with 50 points, and he also led the team with 20 assists. The Rattlers were the fourth year attackman’s favorite opponent as he tallied 10 and 7 points in the two games against them. On May 14, Manny had a career high 10 points in leading the Cannons comeback against Rochester.
“I am beyond excited to be back in Boston for my 5th season in the MLL, said attackman Will Manny. Everything about the Cannons from top down is as professional as you can get in this sport and we as a team have some unfinished business to accomplish in the 2017 season, let’s go!”
Manny was drafted by the Cannons with the 13th overall selection in the 2013 Collegiate Draft after a stellar career at the University of Massachusetts. He has played in 50 games for the Cannons over four seasons and netted his 100th career goal on June 23rd.
