NEILA Announces 2015 Preseason Polls

Harvard, Merrimack, and Tufts Tabbed as Preseason Favorites

NEWTON, Mass. – Harvard University, Merrimack College, and Tufts University were selected as the favorites in their respective divisions in the preseason poll of the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA).

The Crimson received three of the eight first place votes but still garnered enough points to move them past Bryant University, who received the other five first-place votes in Division 1. The Warriors were picked as the unanimous top team in Division 2, while the Jumbos were also unanimous for the second straight year to kick off the Division 3 polls.

The polls are voted on by a committee of coaches within each division. Following today’s preseason polls, the first in-season poll will go out on Monday, March 2nd, with subsequent polls to follow each Monday.
