Maggio’s 7 points key victory, earn Marc Mesh Player of the Week honors

Facing a six-goal deficit at two different times in the second half, the MegaMen regroup and found their offense, scoring nine of the game’s final 11 goals to secure a 15-13 win in Boston Box Lacrosse League action on Jan. 13. Mike Maggio led the way for the winners with a four-goal, three-assist performance, but had plenty of help from Bryan Bendig (three goals, two assists) and Keith Hughes (hat trick).

Ben Smith led BullsEye with six goals, with Greg Lally and Dan DiMaria both registering two goals and two assists in the game.

In the opener, the Blazers scored the game’s first four goals, saw PrimeTime claw back to within one late in the first half and then scored 11 of the game’s remaining 14 goals to run off to a dominant 15-6 win, and sole possession of first place in the BBLL’s winter session. Brandon Dube netted six goals and an assist, Marty Bowes added four goals and two assists and Garrett Naimie and Randy Fraser both registered three-point nights for the victors; Brendan Grant and Jason Wellemeyer both had three-point nights for PrimeTime.
