Reid Spent Last Season As Assistant At DIII Powerhouse Stevenson
WATERBURY, Conn. – Post University head men’s lacrosse coach, Jim Griffin, announced that Tyler Reid will join the Eagles staff as an assistant coach for the 2015 season. Reid comes to Post following an extremely successful season as assistant coach at Division III Stevenson University. He will assist the team on both ends of the field.
“We are excited to add Tyler to the Eagles program,” said Griffin. “He was a successful as an assistant, and a player at Stevenson, helping them to become the top program in Division III. He brings a wealth of experience to our program that will benefit our student-athletes; and his recruiting knowledge will make an immediate impact.”
As an assistant at Stevenson last year, he helped lead the Mustangs to a 19-3 record and the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. Stevenson finished the season ranked No. 3 in NCAA Division III.
After transferring from Fairfield University, Reid became one of the most successful student-athletes in Stevenson history, leading the Mustangs to the Division III National Championship in 2013. During that season he finished with 52 goals, the seventh-most in school history, and 18 assists and was named Honorable Mention All-American for the second-consecutive season.
Reid appeared in 64 games for the Mustangs from 2011-13. He ranks third in school history with 123 goals and fifth with 162 points. Reid also totaled eight game-winning goals, 95 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers.
A native of Middletown, Conn., Reid received all-league recognition at Xavier Academy. In addition to his duties at Post Reid will also work as an educator at Choate Rosemary Hall Secondary School in Wallingford, Conn.
