Villanova & Michigan Sign Multi-Year Deal with Cascade, Maverik

Cascade & Maverik Lacrosse is pleased to announce its official signing of the Villanova University Wildcats men’s lacrosse program. The 2014-15 team will be outfitted with Maverik’s M3 and Rome NXT protective lines and a fully customized version of the Cascade R helmet. Players will also have their choice of Maverik’s newest innovative lacrosse heads, the Optik and the Tank, along with the new Union and Xcel shafts.

“Cascade and Maverik have dedicated themselves to providing best in class products” says coach Michael Corrado, entering his ninth season at the helm and 20th overall with the program. “Our players are excited to be outfitted by two brands known for innovative and dependable product.”

Since Corrado’s appointment as head coach in 2006, the program has achieved a 65-58 overall record. A former standout defenseman for the Wildcats himself, Corrado (‘87) was selected as CAA or BIG EAST Coach of the Year in 2009, 2010, and 2013.

“We are beyond excited to have Villanova as a partner of the Cascade and Maverik Family,” explained sports marketing manager Kevin Simmons. “Coach Corrado and his staff have elevated this program to an elite level. The Wildcats emergence as a Big East power gives the program momentum moving forward and the future is bright.

Cascade and Maverik Lacrosse have signed the University of Michigan men’s lacrosse program to a four-year equipment deal that will put each brand’s most advanced equipment into the hands of every player on the team. Entering its fourth season as a Division I program, the team is poised for its most successful season yet competing in the NCAA.

When the Wolverines hit the field this February, they’ll be sporting custom ROME NXT protective gear with maize and blue M3 gloves and using Maverik’s newest innovative lacrosse heads, the Optik and the Tank. With team GPA well above a 3.0 and five players recently named “Big Ten Distinguished Scholars,” the program will also begin a new tradition in 2015 as it entrusts Cascade ‘R’ technology to protect its student-athletes on the field.

“This partnership is exciting. Cascade and Maverik are industry leaders in lacrosse, and their approach to the game mirrors ours. Their emphasis on passion and tradition is a perfect fit for Michigan,” said head coach John Paul about the multi-year deal. A graduate of the University of Michigan himself, Paul enters his eighteenth season at the helm of the men’s lacrosse team. Lacrosse Magazine named Paul “Man of the Year” in 2011 after successfully leading the program to NCAA Division I status.

“The rise of the Michigan men’s lacrosse program continues to be fueled by an unyielding passion for the game that we at Cascade and Maverik have truly come to admire,” explained Sports Marketing Coordinator, Kevin Simmons. “We’re thrilled to put our newest products into the hands of the Wolverines and join in the rich athletic tradition at the University of Michigan.”
