BOSTON – Head men’s lacrosse coach Ryan Polley announced on Tuesday that assistant coach Drew Kelleher has been named as the program’s recruiting coordinator.
“Drew has been instrumental in every facet of building our Terrier program from the ground up; however, he has excelled specifically in the recruitment of fine student-athletes to Boston University over the last two years,” Polley said. “Drew will serve as the point person for our recruiting efforts going forward and I am pleased to officially name him our recruiting coordinator.”
Kelleher has been with the team since August 2012 after he became Polley’s first hire. He has worked primarily with the offense during his time with BU while also coordinating the program’s recruiting efforts. The Terriers have brought in 47 true freshmen over the first two seasons, including 31 in the program’s inaugural class. As offensive coordinator, Kelleher coached three different Patriot League Rookies of the Week, including two-time honorees Cal Dearth and Sam Talkow. The BU attack improved immensely over the course of the season, culminating in an 11-goal outburst against eventual national champion Duke.
“I am honored to be named recruiting coordinator here at Boston University,” Kelleher said. “I am very fortunate to work at a world-class institution with great people and I cannot wait to watch this program grow.“
BU will begin its fall schedule on Oct. 19 when the Terriers host Team Israel at Nickerson Field.
