Thomas College Terriers 2014 Preview

Thomas College Terriers

The Thomas College Terriers finished the 2013 season with a 4-10 record, and a 3-5 record in the North Atlantic Conference. The Terriers lost their final game of the season in the 1st Round of the NAC tournament at Husson 2-11. This marks the 2nd season as the head coach of the Terriers for Jacob Cohen. Heading into 2014 the goal of Thomas College is to finish in the top 4 of the NAC.

Leading the Terriers in 2014 will be captains Gunnar Shelton and Zac Crimmin. Shelton a senior midfield was a 2nd team All NAC selection in 2013. He finished the season as the teams leading scorer with 15 goals and 16 assists. While Crimmin is a sophomore LSM, who had 51 groundballs and 16 caused turnovers in 2013. Also, looking to contribute in 2014 will be senior attack Jordan Marino. Marino finished 2013 with 14 goals and 9 assists.

A favorite in the North Atlantic Conference this spring looks like Castleton State or New England College. According to coach Cohen, “they both have good depth and many of their conference opponents have small rosters.” A dark-horse this spring in the NAC could be Thomas College. Coach Cohen went on to say that the teams above Thomas in the standings have been down the past few seasons and he is hoping it allows Thomas to get a home playoff game this spring. Players in the NAC that we are going to keep an eye on this spring are Zach Davidson from Castleton State and Gunnar Shelton from Thomas.
