Dorman Named Preseason All-America by Lacrosse Magazine

WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior goalie Ally Dorman (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) of the Bentley women’s lacrosse team has been named a Preseason First Team All-America by Lacrosse Magazine, which is published by US Lacrosse.

Dorman capped a stellar 2013 junior season by earning second team All-America honors from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association, after earning first team All-North Region honors from the IWLCA.

Dorman played every minute of Bentley’s 18 games last season, and she posted an 11-7 record while helping them reach the Northeast-10 playoffs. She finished the season fourth in the NE-10 in goals against average (10.29), fifth in save percentage (.445) and fourth in saves (151).

In addition to being named an All-America, Dorman was chosen as the NE-10 Goalkeeper of the Year and first team All-Conference.

Also on Tuesday, the IWLCA released its Division II Preseason Poll with the Falcons checking in at No. 15. They finished last season ranked No. 14 by the IWLCA after completing the season with an 11-7 record.

The Falcons open their 2014 campaign on March 1 at NE-10 rival Le Moyne.
