This Sunday, April 28th, the Boston College men’s lacrosse team will play in the inaugural red bandana game, and play host to SUNY-Buffalo. The game on Sunday is scheduled for noon in Alumni Stadium. Donations will be collected at the gate; all donations will be given to the Welles Crowther Charitable Trust. Also, with your donation you will receive a red bandana.
The concept of the game came together when the Eagles were approached by FLG Lacrosse in New York and Headwrapz. Headwrapz offered to donate a red bandana-themed helmet wrap for the Eagles helmets for this game. The Eagles will also be wearing special socks and shooting shirts that will honor Welles. The socks and the shooting shirts have a red bandana theme to them as well.
At half time, the Eagles will recognize Mr. and Mrs. Crowther. They will be greeted by Eagles’ senior captain, Gavin Tisdale. Tisdale was selected by his coaches to wear Welles #19 this season. Welles was a four-year member of the Boston College varsity lacrosse team and graduated in 1999.
