Home Finale – Senior Day
The Quinnipiac University men’s lacrosse team (5-6, 2-1 NEC) will play in its final home game of the regular season on Saturday, as the Bobcats host Wagner College (1-10, 0-3 NEC) on Senior Day at the QU Lacrosse Turf Field in Hamden. Prior to the 12 p.m. faceoff with the Seahawks, head coach Eric Fekete and the Quinnipiac Department of Athletics and Recreation will honor the senior class members for their hard work and dedication to the program.

The Senior Class
Quinnipiac’s senior class features six players who have played a large role in the team’s success over the past four years. Basil Kostaras, Jay Binkowski, Chris Messina, Brendan Wilbur, Dorian Wolff and Sean Damboise will be recognized in a brief ceremony prior to faceoff.

The NEC Tournament
With a win on Saturday, Quinnipiac would solidify a spot in the upcoming 2013 Northeast Conference Tournament. It would be the Bobcats fifth straight postseason appearance.

All-Time Against Wagner
Quinnipiac has enjoyed seeing Wagner on the schedule through the years, considering the Bobcats have a perfect 9-0 mark all-time against the Seahawks. Last season, nine different members of the team appeared in the scoring column as the Bobcats cruised past Wagner, 15-5, in Northeast Conference action at the QU Lacrosse Turf Field. Dylan Webster paced the Bobcats with four goals and five ground balls in the triumph.

Scouting the Seahawks
The Seahawks enter Saturday’s contest having lost five straight which includes three against NEC opponents. Most recently, Bryant parlayed three-goal performances from a trio of players and enjoyed a 22-3 faceoff advantage en route to a 15-6 Northeast Conference (NEC) victory over Wagner at Hameline Field. Griffen LeClaire leads the Seahawk attack with 19 goals and seven assists on the season with Colin O’Rourke chipping in with 17 goals and eight assists. Nicholas Gibaldi has seen action in every game between the pipes, boasting a 15.72 goals against average and a .480 save percentage.

Last Time Out against Sacred Heart
It was one to remember for the Quinnipiac men’s lacrosse team, as Michael Sagl netted the game-winner in triple overtime to lift the Bobcats to a crucial NEC win over Sacred Heart, 13-12, in Fairfield last Saturday. 68 minutes couldn’t separate the two teams, but in the third overtime Quinnipiac’s leading goal-scorer came through in the clutch. Sagl found the back of the net 2:12 seconds into the third frame, sending the Bobcats’ sideline in uproar at Campus Field. Defensively, QU goalie Gill Conners played a large role in the outcome, recording 18 saves in his fifth win of the season. For the game, each team tallied 49 shots – which served as a season-high for Quinnipiac. The Bobcats capitalized on several SHU penalties, going 4-of-9 on the man-up.
