Our game of the week is a NE-10 matchup between St. Anselm and Bentley. The game is tonight, Wednesday March 27th at 7pm on Bentley’s campus. Both teams come in below .500, St. Anselm (1-3) and Bentley (1-2), yet both are 1-1 in conference play. Last season’s game was won by St. Anselm 8-6. Bentley is heading into this game after a 3-13 loss at the hands of #1 LeMoyne, while St. Anselm is coming off an 8-7 win over Assumption.
The Hawks are lead offensively by two juniors, midfielder Ryan Mee and attackman Andrew Messner. Mee leads the team in points with 11 and goals with 7, while Messner is 2nd on the team in points with 9 (5 goals, 4 assists). St. Anselm has had some solid goalie play out of senior Jonathon O’Reilly. O’Reilly has a 61.1 % save percentage and has 58 saves on the year.
The Falcons have multiple offensively weapons this season. Freshman attackman Matt Brigham leads the team in goals with 6 and points with 8. Behind Brigham is senior midfielder Steve Caditz with 2 goals and 3 assists. While junior midfielder Nick Astarita has 3 goals and 2 assists. Overall Bentley has had 11 players score at least 1 goal in 2013. Senior goalie Josh Baker has started all three games in 2013. Baker has a 60% save percentage and has 30 saves this season.
It will be interested to see who gets over .500 in the NE-10. This win could be huge for both teams heading into the bulk of the NE-10 schedule.
