2013 Preview Middlebury College Panthers

Middlebury College Panthers

The Middlebury College Panthers finished the 2012 season at 4-9. They come into 2013 with high expectations. According to Head Coach Dave Campbell, they expect to compete for the NESCAC Championship and an NCAA birth. Campbell is heading into his 7th season as the Middlebury College head coach.

The student-athletes looking to lead the Panthers back into the NCAA tournament will be Zach Driscoll, Darric White and Andrew Metros.

Zach Driscoll is a senior defenseman. Driscoll had 30 groundballs and 22 caused turnovers in 2012.

Darric White is a junior long stick midfielder. White had 3 goals, 2 assists, 36 groundballs and 12 caused turnovers last spring.

Andrew Metros is a senior midfielder. Metros had 7 goals and 8 assists in 2012.

In the NESCAC, Tufts University is the favorite again. According to Coach Campbell, “they (Tufts) return some good talent at attack and on defense.” A dark-horse in the NESCAC this spring could be Colby College. Coach Campbell says they have a great finisher in John Jennings and the best middie in the league in Ian Deveau. A player that NE Lax Blog is going to keep an eye on this spring is Ian Deveau from Colby College.
