Thomas College Terriers
The Thomas College Terriers finished the 2012 season with a 4-11 record. The Terriers did well for the North Atlantic Conference tournament, but lost in the quarterfinal round to Castleton State, 24-2. The Terriers have a new coach this season in Jacob Cohen. Cohen was recently the defensive coordinator at SUNY Cobleskill. According to Coach Cohen, the Terriers expectations are to make the conference tournament and finish in the top four of the NAC.
Looking to lead the Terriers in 2013 will be Jesse Morkeski, Sean Machin, Gunnar Shelton and Nik Gagnon.
Jesse Morkeski is a senior goalie. Morkeski started 14 games in 2012, made 232 saves and had a 0.536 save percentage.
Sean Machin is a senior attackman. Machin had 21 goals and 6 assists, as well as 4 man-up goals in 2012.
Gunnar Shelton is a junior midfielder. Shelton had 17 goals, 11 assist, 82 groundballs and 22 caused turnovers.
Nik Gagnon is junior defenseman.
The Terriers are excited to play on new turf fields this spring. The fields were built on campus and will be the home for the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams.
The favorite in the NAC this spring is New England College. According to Coach Cohen, “New England College is well-balanced and the most fundamentally sound.”
