Maine Maritime Academy Mariners
The Maine Maritime Academy Mariners finished the 2012 season with a 6-9 record. The Mariners advanced to the North Atlantic Conference tournament semi-finals before losing to New England College, 16-5. This will be the 2nd season for Adam Sherman as the head coach for the Mariners. Coach Sherman said the expectations for his team heading into 2013 are to play for the North Atlantic Conference championship. He goes on to say, “we have continued to make strides as a program and I feel that the talent on our team keeps improving.”
Looking to lead the Mariners in 2013 are the following student-athletes: Nick Betti, Bronson Guimond, Alex Hermes, Tom Houle, Jason Smith and Erik Milles.

According to Coach Sherman, New England College is the 2013 favorite in the NAC. He says they are very athletic and have the depth to compete with anyone. A dark-horse in the NAC is Maine Maritime. Coach Sherman says, “We lost two crucial games last season, and they are still in the back of our minds.” Looking at their returning players, they have some young offensive talent and good returning defensive players. The sky is the limit for the Mariners in 2013.
A player in the NAC that Coach Sherman suggests NE Lax Blog keep an eye on this spring is Alex Green. Green is a sophomore attackman out of Castleton State.
