“Black was designed and engineered for the elite lacrosse player. Reebok’s Black line features a lightweight and minimalistic design with CarbonLite technology.” – Reebok
After using the Reebok Black arm pads, I can agree with their statement. The arm pads are very lightweight and minimalistic. The protection is ok, but the design is great. Its features include: four EVA foam pads on the inside of the arm (two EVA foam pads below the elbow, two EVA foam pads above the elbow), a CarbonLite elbow cap (a hard plate that covers the elbow), and two more EVA foam pads in shapes of triangles on the front of the arm pad
It is a pad that is very breathable, and it has two straps on the forearm and bicep. The Black arm pad also highlights Reebok’s Griponite technology to keep the arm pad in place while playing lacrosse.
The new CarbonLite technology that Reebok has added to its Black line is great. The CarbonLite is featured on the arm pads and shoulder pads. It is strategically placed in the spots where you need the most protection. On the arm pad it cups your elbow, and protects your elbow from the inside of your arm to the outside. I can attest it definitely helped protect me a few times while wearing them.
Overall, the Reebok Black arm pad is a good product. It is an arm pad for a midfielder or defense. It doesn’t have enough protection, in my opinion, for an attackman. This Black line for Reebok is definitely a step in the right direction and I hope they continue to add to this line in the future.
