As I have been reading the press releases from most of the division one colleges about their 2013 schedules and announcements of captains, I happened to notice one thing. A few of the captains are former Massachusetts high school All-Americans. Here are the currently college captains and former high school All-Americans.
James Queeney played at Reading Memorial HS and currently plays at Colgate. He was a two-time All-American in high school as an attackman. He was captain of the Colgate team in 2012 and he will captain them again in 2013. Queeney played some LSM his freshman year at Colgate and then started at close d his sophomore year and has started ever since.

Quinn Cully played at Duxbury HS and currently plays for Notre Dame. He was a high school All-American his senior year for the Dragons at midfield. Cully has seen significant time at short stick defense his entire career with the Irish. He is widely considered one of the top short stick defensman in the country. Cully will captain the 2013 Notre Dame squad this spring.

Davis Butts played at Walpole HS and currently plays for the Loyola Greyhounds. He was a two-time high school All-American while playing for Walpole. He also helped lead his team to a state title in 2009. Butts was an integral part of the Greyhounds run to the 2012 National Championship. The cool thing about last years Final Four was that it was played at Gillette Stadium and he got to win a National Championship the next town over from where he grew up and played high school ball, pretty amazing. Butts was named a team captain for the 2013 season for Loyola and he will be a key cog in their run to repeat as National Champs.
